Post-It Quotes

Post-It Quotes is a rather simple project. The purpose is to inspire, to use a simple, everyday object to enrich another person's life. Ultimately, to affect change in a small way.

Post-It Quotes was inspired by a livejournal community challenge that prompted members to write meaningful messages or quotes on a post-it note, leave the note in a public place, and take a photo of the note where it had been left.

Post-It Quotes is simply a step further. The intention of this site is to provide a place for people to share photographs of notes they've left or found, and share their experiences. It's a place where people who have found notes can leave feedback, and those who left the notes can see in part the reactions they stirred.

Simply, share. Post-it notes are such a simple concept. Post-It Quotes could mean the world to someone.

To get in contact with Post-It Quotes, including submitting your own photographs or suggestions, please use the community e-mail at:  post_itquotes@yahoo.co.uk

I didn't know this existed!!! I'm so excited to find someone with the same goals and means to spread wisdom to the world!!!

If you go check my blog, you'll find that I've already started a similar project, only I do it for my school and with the purpose of inspiration to my fellow students in mind. I've also done several "personal postings" as I like to call them, and the response has been, quite frankly, simply amazing!

People don't know who I am, except for a select few (two people), and it is simply very...what's the word...thrilling to see what the immediate effect this has on people! I was simply astonished at how fast it traveled by word of mouth, and about how some of my friends look forward to those fridays in which "Ink-Adagio" makes her appearance in the school hallways...

I just wanted to share that experience. Please do count me all for this project!

It would help if I got feedback. Would you mind giving me some? Anything is fine, and I appreciate suggestions. For more information, please go to my blog; scroll down to the bottom and start reading from there.

Sincerely yours,

- Ink-Adagio (Alexandra)

Re: Yes!!!

I like your project, very cool. Ad I really appreciate it that you're just doing it to see other people happy. The ispiration for this group was a challenge on a different community, but I thought it was too neat a project to lay to rest just then.

Do you ever take pictures of the post-its afterward? If you're worried about your identity being found out, could you take pictures during the day, posing as someone who just thought they were really interesting?

I'm sad this site never really got going as much as I wanted. I'm planning on revamping the site when I have some time later this month or next, and I'd like to pass the word around again and try to get even more people interested and involved.

As far as advice, I post mine where ever I can, and normally in public places where I'm not too concerned about being questioned. Are you in high school / secondary school? I'm in Uni, so it's more widespread and I don't know as many people. I use whatever quotes I can find, mostly compiled for a long time, and I write completely differently on the post its than my normal writig. I've found Wal-Mart has pretty good prices, but I don't think they always have the super sticky kind, and I only use the bright pink (I wasn't using them in general, so I put them to use for this, and it's stuck. Plus, they stick out well), so I have a lot of extra post its of other colours.

Anything else, just comment me back. It'd be cool if you were a part of our group too, even doing your own project.
